Overview
Show + Tell is a design critique meetup founded by friends and fellow designers Sam and Christine. It is a labor of love, created to bring designers together through work, laughter, and thoughtful conversation. We wanted a brand that was dynamic and memorable, yet still allowed the designers' work to be the focus.
Moodboard
We quickly latched on to a vintage academic vibe as our theme. The nostalgia brought on by these iconic graphics mirrored what we felt was at the core of our mission: to recreate a homey, collaborative environment of Design School.
Sketches
We knew that we needed a strong wordmark for our brand, so the initial sketches included using the wordmark as the main component of the logo.
Logo Development
We decided on the simplest idea: a wordmark that nods to equations and solving problems. The letterforms are a variation of Futura, customized to add an approachable sensibility to it.

Secondary Logo
_
Early on, we had agreed that we wanted a logo that was dynamic and flexible. We wanted a brand that could be used interestingly across many mediums and platforms in new ways.
Logo as Device
_
We created a graphic version of our logo for specific use cases and to allow for that flexibility we set out to create for the brand. It showcases either our primary or secondary logo.
Brand Extension
Color and pattern are big elements that help build the tone of our brand.
